Chandigarh : Oct 07, 2017 : – Lt Gen Bipin Puri, DGMS (Army) and DGAFMS (Designate) visited Command Hospital (Western Command) Chandimandir today. He was accompanied by Maj Gen Mukti Sharma, MG Medical, HQ Western Command. A world renowned Paediatric Surgeon, teacher and an accomplished researcher, the visiting Gen Officer addressed all the medical officers and encouraged them to excel in their profession and uphold the highest traditions of the Armed Forces Medical Services.He inaugurated the medical stores module of Dhanvantari, the first of its kind medical stores inventory management software in the Armed Forces at Command Hospital (Western Command). This was conceptualised by Maj Gen Mukti Sharma who pioneered the project. Impetus was given to its final stage by Maj Gen Rashmi Datta, Commandant, Command Hospital Chandimandir and now has been implemented in the group network of the medical stores complex.The aim of this module is to streamline the management of med store inventory, aid in accounting of drugs and consumables in wards and dispensary, ensure bench marking of prices of drugs and consumables and provide real-time info on stock availability, items nearing expiry and held in disposal of drugs. Command Hospital (Western Command) is a premier tertiary care referral hospital of the Armed Forces and aims to provide holistic care to its large and ever-increasing clientele.
