Mathura: Farmer gets loan relief. BJP’s debt waiving is making fun of farmers in some states. A few days ago, debt waivers from 9 paise to 3 rupees in Uttar Pradesh made the newspapers’ headlines. In another instance, government waived off 1 paisa from a farmer’s farm loan of 1.50 lakh.In fact, farmer of Ading village of Mathura has more than Rs 1.5 lakh loan. In a certificate issued by the government, 1 paisa loan has been waived off. In this case, the District Manager of the concerned Bank PK Sharma said that this happened because some farmers had accounts in more than one bank. He said that the names whose loans had been waived off came into the list by mistake.There are six members in the family of farmer Chhidi Singh. He has only five bighas of land and owes 1.5 lakh loan. He along with his family, live in just a single room in Ading village.When the farmers complained to the Deputy District Officer, they withdrew their loan waiver certificate and accepted the bank’s fault. He has asked bank officials to correct the mistake and issue a new certificate.
