The murder case of Journalist Gauri Lankesh is being compared with the killing of rationalist Narendra Dabholkar, Govind Pansare and MM Kulburgi. According to some reports, Karnataka police have found similarities in the murder weapons used in these murder cases.Gauri Lankesh was murdered on Tuesday night by un-identified gunmen in Bengaluru. The Government of Karnataka formed Special Investigation Team (SIT) by an IG rank police officer.
The Narendra Dabholkar was the founder President of Maharashra Andhashraddha Nirmoolan Samilti. He was found dead on August 20, 2013. Govind Pansare was shot on Feb 15, 2015. Pansare succumbed to his injuries on Feb 20. Like both of them MM Kulburgi was also shot dead. He was the Former Vice-Chancellor of Kannada University. He was killed outside his residence on Aug 30, 2015 in Dharwad.The teams who are investigate the Gauri Lankesh murder case may do well to focus on the fundamentals of criminal’s investigation and bring the culprits to justice.
