Six times Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh will be contesting from Theog for 9 Nov 2017 elections. Singh, however, admitted that he was also offered to contest from other constituencies, like Arki in Solan district. The most positive thing is that, an assembly constituency of veteran Congress leader Vidya Stokes, a seven-time MLA ready to leave their seat and she also want Singh to contest from Theog.The 90-year old Stokes, fondly called as ‘Madam’, is the daughter-in-law of Satyanand Stokes, who is credited with the apple revolution in Himachal Pradesh. Although earlier it was supposed that Vidya Stokes could also come to the polls, but now she is given the confirmation to leave her seat for the Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh. Sources reveal that the role of the party’s in-charge in finding a new electoral constituency for CM is also very important.Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh had fought the last election from Shimla Rural,but now his son Vikramaditya Singh is contesting from this constituency. Former MLA Rakesh Verma was also contesting the elections from BJP. Apart from these, Rakesh Singha, a CPI (M) leader, had challenged in the elections. Now after the departure of CM in the next elections, what is the next equation in this constituency? Everyone’s eyes will be on this.
