Lalu cooks: Authorities at Birsa Munda Central Jail have turned down Jharkhand RJD president Annapurna Devi’s requests to allow home-cooked meals for imprisoned party chief Lalu Prasad. “It is against the jail manual,” a jail official said on Tuesday under cover of anonymity. “No undertrial or convict is allowed food from outside. There can’t be a separate set of rules for a prisoner just because he is a VIP. We have already provided Lalu Prasad a cook who is preparing meals of his choice. We have categorically informed RJD leaders that we cannot bend rules for their party president.”Former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, who was convicted in the fodder scam, has become completely vegetarian in the jail.
