Indian PM to visit Palestine: PM Modi will land in Ramallah on February 10 for what will be the first-ever visit by an Indian prime minister to Palestine. The Government of India said this decision is taken to “de-hyphenate” relations with the two countries. This confirmation on the date of the visit came out when India is hosting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife Sara on a six-day visit. The visit will be important for India as the government believes it will help dispel the notion that there has been any change in its Palestine policy since Modi assumed office in 2014. The announcement of the trip comes in the middle of the visit of the Israeli leader and after the UN vote where India vilified US decision to recognise Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
