Neelmani N. Raju becomes first IPS Officer: For the first time, the Karnataka government has appointed a woman as its state police chief. Neelmani N. Raju is the Karnataka’s first woman Director General (DG) and Inspector General of Police (IGP). She is basically a resident of Uttarakhand.Karnataka government has appointed Neelmani N Raju on Tuesday as DGP-DIG. Three IPS officials were in the race for the post, including Raju, DGP of the Criminal Investigation Department H.C. Kishore Chandra and DGP of Anti Corruption Bureau M.N. Reddi.Neelmani, who is from Uttarakhand, is a 1983 batch IPS officer who will replace Rupak Kumar Dutta. Neelmani said that it is a big responsibility and it is a great honor to me elected for this position. At the same time, she said that it has been very responsible for the elections in the state, which she will be able to maintain.In the state of Karnataka, she have been given a big responsibility ahead of state elections, she will maintain the situation.
