New Delhi: New Delhi refutes Pakistan claims of swapping Jadhav with a terrorist. India has rejected recent claims by Pakistan that the country was offered to swap Kulbhushan Jadhav, languishing in a Pakistani jail, with a terrorist in Indian prison.Pakistan Foreign Minister Khwaja Muhammad Asif had suggested that he received the proposal during his meeting with an Afghan National Security Advisor (NSA). But, Asif did not identify the NSA or the terrorist who was to be exchanged.Contradicting Asif’s claim, the office of the issued a statement saying, there is no mention of India or an Indian citizen during a meeting with the Foreign Minister on September 21 in New York.
Asif had told a gathering at the Asia Society in New York on September 26 that Pakistan received such a proposal.External Affairs Ministry spokesman Raveesh Kumar said that the statement given by the Afghan NSA office suggests that Asif’s claim is included on a long list of “imaginary lies” by Pakistani establishment.
