Home Minister Rajnath Singh held a meeting of the Home Minister Advisory Committee after nearly 12 years. Major decisions were taken to provide relief to lakhs of residents in the city.
In the meeting held in Delhi, the committee decided that decision on free-handed property transfer from lease hold will be taken soon in the interest of the public.Therefore, the administration of Chandigarh has been given three months time. Within three months, the administration will have to decide what rates should be set to free the property from lease hold. This administration decision can benefit lakhs of residents.Earlier, discussions for freehold transfer for commercial and residential property continued for a long time. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kirron Kher raised the issue of free holding of property.On July 3 this year, the Ministry of Urban Development had also asked the Ministry of Home Affairs to direct the administration to transfer the leased hold property to a swift hold.
