New Delhi: PNB ATM : Bank to charge fee after 5 free transactions. PNB has imposed extra charges if ATM transaction exceeds the limit of 5. Customers have to pay charges to if their transaction limit exceeds 5 times. It can be said that the bank will impose fine for using ATM after beyond the limit of five.No such charges were imposed on transactions through ATM by the bank before. With the imposition of the new rule, customers have to limit the using of cards. Punjab National Bank has issued notice to its customers, in which free transaction limit has been fixed and charges will be levied if transactions exceeds the given limit.
Bank stated that this rule will be effective from October 1, 2017. According to the new rule, after every 5 transactions from Savings / Current / Overdraft account in a month, account holders will have to pay 10 rupees per transaction.
It is worth mentioning that this is the second national bank who imposed limit on cash transactions. Earlier, State Bank of India (SBI) also started levying charges on exceeded transaction on its customers. Banks call it a step towards the cashless economy, but it will become a burden for common people
