The players from have stamped their class in the sporting arena once again. In the minigolf championship held in Nagpur from 7th to 11th February under the 63rd National School Games, the players from the state have won bagful of medals.
Disclosing this here today, an official spokesman said that the U-17 team (Girls) has bagged overall 1st position in the championship. In the same age group singles category (Girls) Navneet Kaur won silver medal while the U-17 doubles (Boys) team comprising Hrithik and Yograj Singh bagged silver medal. In U-19 singles (Girls) category, Harpreet Kaur won Gold medal. In the same age group team category, Sonal and Ramandeep Kaur bagged silver medal. In U-19 boys team event, the state team bagged bronze medal while in the same age group, Preetinderjit Singh won silver medal.The Education Minister, Punjab, Aruna Chaudhary has congratulated the players for their stupendous success and called them the future stars of the country in sporting arena. The minister has also extended her congratulations to the coaches accompanying the team such as Rajiv Sethi, Rajesh Kumar, Baljit Kaur, Rohan Sharma, Sajid Iqbal, Shubham and Hukam Chand. The General Manager of the team was Mr. Shankar Singh Negi (Lecturer, Physical Education). It is worth mentioning that the organizer of the Punjab School Games was Rupinder Ravi.The General Secretary of the Punjab Minigolf Association Parminder Singh Jattpuri has said that the team would be felicitated by the association on coming back. On the occasion, General Secretary of the Minigolf Federation of India Suraj Singh Yotikar was also present.
