A Russian tourist on his tour to India caught everyone’s attention when he was seen seeking alms at the entrance of a temple. The incident took place at Sri Kumarakottam temple in Kancheepuram, Tamil Nadu on Tuesday. The Russian tourist named, A. Evangelin (24), had come to India on September 24. He had visited temples in the temple town, Kancheepuram after reaching there on Tuesday.
During his visits in the temples, he went to an ATM kiosk near the Kumarakottam temple for withdrawing some cash. However, to his bad luck he couldn’t withdraw any money as his ATM PIN got locked. Eventually, the frustrated Russian sat at the temple’s entrance and started seeking alms.
The matter reached Siva Kanchi police who then reached the temple and took him to the Police station. Evangelin was found to have a valid passport and visa and after verifying his travel documents, he was reportedly given some money to travel to Chennai.
