Shiv Sena members hoist tricolor: The Jammu and Kashmir unit of the Shiv Sena has sent a team to Srinagar to hoist the national flag at Lal Chowk on Wednesday, its state chief Dimpy Kohli said. The party’s move comes in the wake of National Conference chief Farooq Abdullah daring the center to hoist the tricolor at Lal Chowk. The move came as a surprise for large number of kashmiris as there was no information regarding this event. Shiv Sena members also raised Pro-india and anti Pakistan slogans. The administration in Kashmir had avoided any such situations where attempts were made to unfurl national flag at the Lal chowk. After the Shiv Sena members reached the spot police teams were immediately rushed to the spot to avoid any confrontation between locals and members of saffron brigade. BJP and other hindu organisations had in the past made several attempts to hoist Indian national flag at Lal chownk but were not allowed to do so in wake of sensitive situations in the valley.
