Smriti Irani HS Phoolka Rahul Gandhi. BJP on Tuesday raised many questions on Rahul’s statement on dynasty in the US. Union Minister and party spokesperson Smriti Irani held a press conference at the BJP headquarters to target Congress and Rahul over his comments. Smriti said, “Rahul said in foreign countries that dynasty only exists in India. A member of a failed dynasty today went to the US to talk about his failed political journey. We want to tell them that democracy does not belong to a dynasty, instead of merit. “Smriti also challenged Rahul that he should come to India and have a public debate with them.Rahul Gandhi (47) is on a two-week US tour. On Tuesday, there was a program at Berkeley University. During this period, he targeted BJP and Narendra Modi on the issue of bondage, killing of people and freedom of speech in the country. During this time he answered many questions of the people. Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi began his two-week tour to the US slamming Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the University of California, Berkeley. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) responded with equal vigor with Smriti Irani describing the Congress leader as a failed dynast.“A failed dynast today chose to speak about his failed political journeys in the US. The fact that Mr. Gandhi chose to belittle the PM is not surprising in fact expected.” said Smriti Irani on Rahul Gandhi’s statement. “Fact that he (Rahul Gandhi) said that dynasts and dynasties is the very fulcrum of India in itself is an anomaly,” Smriti Irani told reporters in New Delhi. Irani, who contested the 2014 Lok Sabha election against Rahul Gandhi from Amethi, said her party is ready to debate with the Congress over every issue.“Congress failed on GST and failed to keep the state into confidence. He (Rahul Gandhi) lacks imagination, that’s why he wants to follow the footstep of PM Modi. If he wants, we are ready to have a debate on any issue with him anywhere,” the Union Minister said. Addressing students at the University of California, Berkeley, today, Rahul Gandhi criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s economic policies, accusing him of causing “tremendous damage” to India’s economy with “reckless and dangerous” decisions like demonetization and “hastily-applied” GST.“Ignoring India’s tremendous institutional knowledge and taking such decisions is reckless and dangerous,” he charged. The Congress leader also raised issues like lynching and polarization during his speech. “The politics of polarization has raised its ugly head in India,” he said, adding that liberal journalists are being shot. He was apparently referring to rights activist and journalist Gauri Lankesh’s killing. He also talked about 1984 Sikh-Genocide matter and said that he also lost his Grandmother, Indira Gandhi and his Father, Rajeev Gandhi. H.S Phoolka slammed Rahul Gandhi on his 1984 Sikh-Genocide statement and said that he is shedding crocodile tears. He added that if Rahul was concerned about the issue, then he must have taken some action by now and what has he done for 1984 Genocide victims.
