Currently, the existing tax slab with the discounted category is 5, 12, 18 and 28 percent.While defending various slabs, he said that the central government is trying to implement a new tax system with the consent of states and does not want to impose it. In the program organized by the Indian Chamber of Commerce, the minister said, “The Center could take a decision on the basis of a majority in the GST Council, but it has not been done.” Meghwal said that after the GST was implemented, 13.2 lakh new dealers have registered themselves in the system so far. Out of these 56,000 dealers are from West Bengal, which is more than all the states.He said that before the GST was implemented, the total number of registered dealers in the system was 80 lakhs. Terming the GSTN network as a “best system”, he said, “We are having some difficulty initially in implementing this, but this is a good system. This new system will end the Inspector Raj because no person will interfere anywhere and everything will happen automatically. The government will improve the GSTN system. ‘ He said that the GST Council will consider how to give excise duty to companies in the North-East. Later in a session organized by the Merchant Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the minister said that the government has identified about 1.78 lakh fake companies.He said that for the purpose of improving corporate governance and ease of doing business, the Central Government has amended the Companies Act and Company (Amendment) Bill, which has been passed by the Lok Sabha and passed by the Upper House in the next session.Hope is there. Referring to the increase in the number of direct tax payers, he said that 91 lakh new taxpayers have been registered this year and as a result, direct tax revenues have increased by 20 percent.
