The new mayor, Rajesh Kumar Kalia, will hold the election of the Finance and contract committee (F&CC) in the first general house of this on January 30
After the Mayoral elections, fissures among the Bharatiya Janata Party are likely come to the fore in the Finance and Contract committee (F&CC) elections, scheduled for January 30 as the expelled Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) Councillor Satish Kainth will be filing his nominations as an independent candidate. In the Mayor elections Kainth as an independent candidate had got 11 votes. Mayor had got 16 votes. Talking to Daily Post, Kainth, confirmed the same and said, “I will be contesting the elections again as F&CC, which is the second biggest committee of the civic and takes the crucial financial and policy decisions, so certainly the Mayor and his group will want their desired members to make it to this committee.”
Kainth said that, as in the mayor elections the cross voting done by the five of the BJP councillors have proved that they are unhappy with the Mayor, so this time too he is hopeful that he will win the F&CC elections. For winning the elections a candidate needs to get just five votes. “Agar mayor elections mai mujhe 11 votes mil skate hai toh is mai toh bus panch chiyae (If I can get 11 votes in mayor elections, os in this I just want five votes). I don’t think it would be difficult for me to get five votes, required for winning the F&CC elections, ”Kainth said. Since the ruling party dominates in the F&CC of the civic body, it is certain that BJP members would be chosen for the committee, but since in past also as BJP was divided into various factions, BJP Councillor Heera Negi had lost the F&CC elections against congress councillor Devinder singh Babla.
