Pakistan can refuse to accept the decision of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in case of Indian Citizen Kulbhushan Jadhav (46) execution. This claim has been made in the Pakistan media report. In the case of alleged espionage, the ICJ has stayed the execution of Jadhav’s death sentence awarded to him by Pakistan’s military court. In this case ICJ will hear on May 15. Pak Attorney General informed about the matter.
According to the news agency, Pakistan’s TV channel has reported that the Pakistani attorney general informed about the Jadhav issue on Friday. They said that the issue of Pakistan’s national stability is connected with this matter, so can not approve the jurisdiction of Pakistan International Court in this matter.
it is mentionable here that the military court of Pakistan have sentenced Jadhav under hang on charges of espionage and anti-national activities. On behalf of India, senior advocate Harish Salve filed a petition on May 8 in the International Court. They had demanded that Jadhav death sentence punishment should be stayed as before examining the merit of India’s stand.
What has India appealed in ICJ?
India had demanded a ban on Jadhav’s death sentence while accusing the violation of the Vienna Convention on Pakistan in its petition in India. India says that Jadhav was kidnapped from Iran, after retirement from Indian Navy, he was doing business in Iran. But Pakistan claims that Jadhav was arrested from Balochistan on March 3, 2016.
