13 including 4 Cong leaders booked for murderous attack on Kolianwali’s son
Bathinda(DP Correspondent) – A day after the deadly attack on Shiromani Akali Dal Muktsar district president and SGPC member Dyal Singh Kolianwali’s son Parimder Singh Kolianwali, Malout police have booked 13 persons including four Congress leaders.Those booked by name include the Congress party’s state secretary Shubhdeep Singh ‘Bittu’, another party leader and former Malout Truck Union president Bakshish Singh Sidhu, his son Dhanjit Singh and nephew Manpreet Singh aka Manna, all residents of Malout town. The case has been slapped against all of them under sections 307, 323, 506, 427, 148, 149, 120-B of the IPC and 25, 27 of the Arms Act. However, none of the accused could be arrested till Monday evening.As per the medical report, Parminder suffered fracture in his right leg and seven blunt injuries on other body parts. The assailants had also smashed the window panes of Parminder’s car. Some bullet marks were also spotted on the vehicle, in which he was rushed to the private hospital in Bathinda from Malout on late Sunday evening. It is learnt that the assault was an outcome of the old rivalry between Kolianwali and Manpreet, supported by Shubhdeep, Bakhshish and others. Notably, Shubhdeep and Bakhshish were earlier Akalis but later due to factionalism, they joined the Congress party.Meanwhile, the Shubhdeep group refuted the allegations, stating that some of the persons mentioned in the FIR were not even aware of the fight. It is also learnt that two members of Shubhdeep group also got admitted in Faridkot medical college and hospital, claiming that they were assaulted by Kolianwali and his men. However, the police were yet to record their statement. Police officials in the district informed that Parminder was having one gunman but as per the record he was on leave when the attack was made on Sunday.
