In view of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2019, a total of 28 candidates have filed their nomination papers for Ludhiana Parliamentary constituency. On the last day of the filing of nominations, a total of 10 candidates filed their nomination papers.
On last day, covering candidate of Shiromani Akali Dal candidate, Hitesh Inder Singh Grewal, Rajinder Kumar Goyal as an independent, Ram Singh Deapak from Bahujan Mukti Party, Baljit Singh from Bharat Prabhat Party, Mohinder Singh as an independent, Sukhwinder Singh from Nationalist Congress Party, Mohd. Naseem Ansari from Rashtriya Sahara Party, Darshan Singh from Jai Jawan Jai Kisan Party, Amarjit Singh from Bharatiya Lok Seva Dal and Dildar Singh from Ambedkarite Party of India filed nomination papers.
The total nominations for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections had started on April 22, 2019 and a total of 28 candidates have filed their nomination papers for Ludhiana Parliamentary constituency. However, the fight is between four candidates which includes Ravneet Singh Bittu of Congress, Maheshinder Singh Grewal of Shiromani Akali Dal, Simarjit Singh Bains of Lok Insaaf Party (LIP) and Prof. Tejpal Singh Gill of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
On the first day of filing of nominations, (April 22), two persons had filed their nomination papers, no nominations were filed on April 23, while three candidates had filed their nominations on April 24.Three nominations were filed on April 25, 2019 and 10 nominations were filed on April 26. District Election Officer Pradeep Kumar Agrawal today informed that the scrutiny of the nomination papers would be done on April 30, 2019, and the last date of withdrawal of candidature would be May 2, 2019. The Election symbols will be allotted on May 2.
