Amritsar:Amritsar police on Wednesday impounded three trucks carrying 63,500 litre liquor from village Ladhan, near Beas. Superintendent of Police (SP), Amritsar, Jagjit Singh Saroa, disclosed that on a specific input police party from Beas followed a truck (PB-02BS-9550) and waylaid it near village Ladhan.
On searching the truck, they found 100 canes, each filled with 35 litre liquor from the truck. The culprits, have been identified as Shinder Singh, and Angrej Singh.
Saroa, stated that following interrogation, the accused led to the recovery of three more trucks, each carrying 20,000 litre liquor. The SP also disclosed that the seized liquor had been stolen from the distilleries present in the area.A case under relevant sections of the Excise Act had been slapped against the accused.
