Patiala: Flowers in various shapes and hues, across the state greet visitors in the flower show, which got underway here on Friday. Show organisers at Government Mohindra College has received as many as 653 entries from individuals, nurseries and institutions across the state on it’s inaugural day.
Roses, Sweet William, Salvia, Aster, Calendula, Gladious, Marigold, Daisy, orchids, not one or two but 67 varieties are on display for discerning flower lovers to feast their eyes on. No wonder visitors went on a shooting spree capturing the lovely flowers on their mobile cameras and clicking selfies.
Meanwhile, the Principal of the Government Mohindra College Dr. Sukhbir Singh Thind told the Daily Post on Friday evening that the motive of organising the show is to strengthen the ties between students and the nature. He further said that the Commissioner Patiala division, Sumer Singh Gurjar will formally inaugurate the show on Saturday and Amrita Gill, PCS, will preside over the valedictory function.
