Ferozepur: Police on Saturday booked AAP candidate from Ferozepur city constituency and 13 other people for illegal occupation of land belonging to police quarters and a help center in Ferozepur city. Those who have been booked include AAP candidate Narinder Singh Sandha, a hotelier Subhash Kumar, Balbir Chand, Kuldip Singh of Dariye Ke, Ajit Lal of Shanti Nagar, Kirandeep Kaur of Malsian Kalan, Bhupinder Singh , Kuldip Singh of Fatehgarh, Gurmukh Singh of village Landde, Joginder Singh of Dhawan Colony, Kikkar Singh of Jawahar Khera, Rajesh Kumar of Mamdot, and employees of Wakf board office at Ferozepur.
Resident of village Ratta Kherha, former MLA of Congress Ravinder Singh Sandhu who had joined SAD after losing as an independent candidate in 2012 assembly elections made a written complaint to SSP Ferozepur in which he stated that there was a land of Wakf Board on main road.
Further he mentioned that some people had grabbed that land of the police quarters and the help center with the help of employees of Wakf Board by preparing forged documents.
He also accused that these people even mislead Punjab and Haryana High Court by showing the record of other property. The police investigated the matter as per the documents produced by complainant and after investigating the matter registered a case under Sections 420/467/468/120B of IPC.
It is pertinent to mention here that this land was in possession of the police since 1968 where police had built the quarters for staff. On other hand when contacted Narinder Singh Sandha denied all these charges.
