Khanna: In a jolt to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), rebel leaders and volunteers have decided to form a new party and contest elections in nine constituencies.
The revolt of party leaders and volunteers in Fatehgarh Sahib Lok Sabha constituency will be another major setback as Member of Parliament Harinder Singh Khalsa has already parted ways from AAP.
Though the new party will be registered with Election Commission of India (ECI) but the rebel leaders have suggested the name as Aam Aadmi Party Taksali volunteers. Suspended AAP leader Ajay Panesar has been appointed as state convener. Panesar was the contender for the party ticket from Sahnewal said that the party has ignored the voting process of volunteers in selection of party candidates.
He said that in Lok Sabha elections they have left no stone unturned for the victory of AAP candidate Harinder Singh Khalsa but later the party has suspended khalsa from the party. Similarly, MP Dharamvira Gandhi, Sucha Singh Chottepur also met the same fate.
While accusing Party leadership for selling tickets in crores, Panesar said that they will contest elections from nine constituencies which fall under Fatehgarh Sahib Lok Sabha constituency, under the banner of new party.
