Chandigarh:Aam Adami Party, that emerged as the main opposition party in Punjab Vidhan Sabha is unhappy with the seating plan allotted to its MLAs and the party office allotted to rookie party in Vidhan Sabha.
Leader of opposition HS Phoolka, Party’s chief whip Sukhpal khaira, Senior leader Kanwar Sandhu along with other elected members of the party and Lok insaaf party’s two legislatures, Balwinder Singh Bains and Simran jeet Singh Bains met the pro tem Speaker of Vidhan sabha,Rana KP Singh and lodged their resentment on both the issues.
The party is unhappy with the seats allotted to two elected members Balwinder Singh Bains and Simran jeet Singh Bains of the Lok Insaaf Party, with which Aam Adami party had a pre-poll alliance. Before the start of Vidhan Sabha session, the members of AAP and LIP gathered in which HS Phoolka, while talking to the media showed displeasure over the allotment of seats.
“This is a vendetta politics as Congress have deliberately allotted the seats to Bains brothers away from us and Akali dal has been given key seats (front seats). It clearly shows that the Congress wants to suppress our voice in Vidhan sabha”, said Phoolka.
However, the chief whip of the party, Sukhpal Khaira while speaking to daily post denied this to be an act of vendetta politics. He said that since we have a pre poll alliance with Lok insaaf party , both the legislatures of LIP must get seats adjacent to members of AAP. “I don’t want to call it vendetta politics right now. We have met the speaker and we want him to put things in order,” said khaira.
Another senior leader of Aam Adami party, Kanwar Sandhu while talking to Daily Post added that the party is unhappy with the allotted office and should be given the office which is allotted main opposition party.
“Congress and Akali Dal have the same offices which they were allotted in last Vidhan Sabha, we just demand that the office of opposition should be allotted to Aam Aadmi Party”, said Phoolka.
It is pertinent to mention that the speaker has agreed to listen to the arguments of Aam Aadmi
