Patiala: Before conducting an armed attack at high security jail on November 27, accused conducted a mock drill at Moga. The startling relevations were made by mastermind behind the attack Parwinder Singh alias Pinda during interrogation.
Pinda, himself fled from the same jail around month and a half ago where he was lodged for killing police official in Jalandhar.
Pinda was brought from Muzaffarnagar on production warrant by Punjab Police late Tuesday evening.
During interrogation, the accused told the police that a day before the actual strike was done to free gangsters lodged in Nabha jail, all the accused assembled along with the weapons at Moga.
He further revealed that police uniforms were arranged at house of one Gurpreet Singh,a resident of the Mangewal village in Moga.
Punjab police on Wednesday arrested one more person in connection with sensational Nabha jail-break case. Gurpreet Singh Gopi was arrested for allegedly harbouring gangsters, a night before they attacked the high-security jail and freed six inmates – four gangsters and two militants, including Khalistan Liberation Front chief Harminder Singh Mintoo on Sunday, police said.
Meanwhile, Punjab Police has detained two more persons in connection with Nabha jailbreak incident, one of whom is a friend of an escapee, from Sriganganagar district of Rajasthan.
Gurpreet Brar and his brother-in-law Angrej Singh were traced to Kishanpura village last night.
Brar, a resident of Firozpur in Punjab, is a friend of Gurpreet Sekhon who is among those that escaped from the high-security jail in Punjab.
The Punjab Police team had been camping here and the duo was held last night, Ghukkhar Singh, SHO of Ghamurwali police station said.
He said they were traced on the basis of their mobile phones’ location.
SHO of Sadar Police Station, Rahul Yadav said the two were taken to Punjab for questioning.
