Ferozepur: Lamenting on the screening of the comedy film ‘The Legend of Michael Misra’ the activists of the Valmiki Samaj protested heavily at Ferozepur and forced the shopkeepers to keep their shutters down to join in their protest.
The activist raised the slogans against the Central Censor Board for giving certificate to the film in which the derogatory remarks had been passed against the Bhagwan Valmiki.
Lamenting on the Censor Board’s decision to certify the movie. Valmiki Samaj spokesman Raju said that such remarks against Bhagwan Valmiki had left the whole community agitated and Valmikis could never be tolerate such derogatory remarks against Bhagwan Valmiki.
In the morning when the shops were opened by the shopkeepers the situation had become tense but the SPH Rajvir Singh Boparai arrived their and asked the activists to keep the peace and law and order in the area. Most of the shopkeepers shut down their shops, but those who tried to resist were forced to by the mob to shut their shops and many activists had been deputed in the markets to keep the markets closed. There was no untoward incident reported in the city and cantt so far.
