BJP leader Vineet Joshi and Akali MLA NK Sharma will go to trial on July 3 in the case of riot, filed against in the year 2008, the District Court has fixed the charges.On June 23, 2008, the BJP and SAD were jointly protested against the Center’s anti-inflation campaign against the Congress government. During this, protesters were heading towards the governor’s house. The police stopped them near the Shivalik View located in Sector-17. After a while, the BJP MP Navjot Singh Sidhu was also present in the demonstration.The police stopped the protesters and then protesters started ransacking and also pelted the police party. This made many policemen injured. Also damage to government vehicles. On this, the police used the water canon on them to disperse protesters.The police had arrested 21 protesters including Navjot Singh Sidhu, under section 107/151 of CRPC. The police had presented all the above to the SDM and released them.
