Khanna: All is not well in the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) after the release of first list of 19 candidates. In Khanna, the party has reportedly suspended two contenders of the party ticket for alleged “anti-party” activities.
The others who have raised voice against party candidate from Sahnewal Harjot Singh Bains were also suspended from the party.
Confirming the development, the Media in-charge of the party, Tejinder Singh said in-charge of Lok Sabha constituency Fatehgarh Sahib Virender Singh, circle in-charge Ranjeet Singh Khanna (Retired Sub Inspector) and Money Bhikhi of youth wing were suspended from the party.
Meanwhile, Jangveer Singh Jaggi (Ludhiana) in-charge of youth wing from Lok Sabha constituency Fatehgarh Sahib, Ajay Panesar (Ludhiana), Daljinder Singh Saini (Ludhiana), Sector in-charge of the youth wing Dharamjit Singh Majri and Amit Bansal were suspended for three months from the party. They were opposing the candidature of Bains from Sahnewal.
It is pertinent to mention here that Dharamjit Majri and Amit Bansal were interested to contest election from Khanna constituency
According to sources, a meeting was held regarding Issru conference in party office situated on Malerkotla Road where Virender Singh allegedly entered in scuffle with party workers.
The matter was brought in the notice of Virendra Khara in-charge of constituency Khanna and he immediately took action and suspended seven leaders.
On the other side, Dharamjit Majri and Amit Bansal claimed that they were serving the party as volunteer and continue the same. No information of suspension has been received as of now, they added.
