Kartarpur – Secretary Tourism and Culture Affairs Vikas Pratap Singh on Sunday said that the function to mark the dedication of second phase of Jang-e-Azadi memorial to the nation by Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh would be organised in an unsurpassed manner. Presiding over a meeting here at memorial complex to review the arrangements for this mega event slated to be held on March 6, the Secretary, accompanied by the Managing Editor of Ajit Group of newspapers Dr Barjinder Singh Hamdard, said that it would a historic day for the state as this significant project would give further boost to the tourism sector in the state.He said that with the completion of this project Kartarpur would further emerge as star tourist destination not only in the country but across the globe. Vikas Pratap said that this memorial would, which showcases the role of the great freedom fighters in the national freedom, would ever inspire the younger generations to make supreme sacrifices for the cause of the nation. He said that state government would leave no stone unturned to make this gala event a huge success. Vikas Pratap Singh said that the district administration has already put in place a viable mechanism to elicit the maximum participation of the people besides making massive arrangements for them. Taking part in deliberations, Jalandhar Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma apprised the secretary about the arrangements being finalised by the district administration. He also apprised the officer that the district administration has already constituted a number of committees of the senior officer of the administration to make this event a huge success. Sharma also briefed the officer about the plan chalked out by the district administration with regard to foolproof arrangements for food, traffic, security, transport and others for the people arriving in the function.
