Tension prevailed in Shivpuri area on Sunday after the social activist Anmol Kwatra and his father was allegedly attacked by local Congress leaders. The victim along with his thousands of supporters blocked Shivpuri Chowk in protest.
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate Tejpal Singh Gill, Lok Insaaf Party (LIP) candidate Simarjit Singh Bains, Youth Akali Dal leaders also joined the protest and supported Anmol Kwatra who runs NGO “We don’t accept money” for helping the patients in hospitals.
Kwatra said that his father was associated with political party and the area councilor Mani Grewal and Youth Congress leader Mohit Rampal attacked on his father. When he intervened, he was also attacked by Rampal, he alleged.
Anmol Kwatra said that from last was days he was receiving threats. He said that he will not lift the protest until the Police will arrest the accused. Heavy Police force was deployed on the spot but the heavy traffic jam was witnessed in the area. ACP Raj Kumar said that they are trying to pacifying the protestors and investigate the matter after getting formal complaint.
