Aruna Chaudhary monitors welfare schemes at Nawanshahr
Nawanshahr– With a view to ensuring qualitative improvement in school education, the state government has been taking revolutionary innovative steps. The strengthening of primary education is the key agenda being implemented by the state government. This was stated by the Education Minister, Aruna Chaudhary while presiding over the meeting convened to monitor the implementation of welfare schemes here on Monday. “The steps like pre-primary classses, ensuring availability of furniture in Primary Schools and English from class 1 in as many as 400 schools in the state are being implemented to bring in effective qualitative improvement in school education”, further said the Education Minister while adding that the state education department, with a view to bringing in administrative reforms to provide transparent and hassle free delivery of various utility services to teachers and non teaching employees had implemented historic decisions. The DDOs had been empowered to sanction cases of Assured Career Progression after 4-9-14 years of service, probation period, confirmation and grant permission for higher education to the employees of education department. Besides, on line software for ensuring hassle free mechanism for dealing with cases of Ex India Leave and other long leaves. “ The government is committed to ensure transparent and prompt implementation of the welfare schemes so that the beneficiaries at the grass root level could avail the benefits of these schemes in its true spirit”, further said the Education Minister while adding that she was visiting SBS Nagar and Hoshiarpur districts on Monday to monitor the implementation of the welfare schemes and flagship programmes of the government. “The state government has increased the amount of Rs 15000 to 21000 under Shagun scheme, Rs 500 to Rs 750 under Pension Scheme . Besides , the atta and dal due from April 17 to September 17 are being disbursed to the beneficiaries in the state”, said the Education Minister while directing the officials of the different district departments to ensure proper implementation of the welfare schemes. Interacting with media persons, the Education Minister, Aruna Chaudhary said that as per demand raised by the Nawanshahr MLA, Angad Singh the process of taking the local private school Baba Wazir Singh School under government control would be completed before the commencement of the next academic session. Reacting to the question raised by the Balachaur MLA, Darshan Lal Mangupur regarding problem of the Adarsh Schools, the Education Minister assured that the state government would take immediate steps to solve the problem. Answering a query regarding the fate of Government Aided Schools, the minister said that a policy would be formulated for govt aided schools.
