Babus trying hard to appease Congress leaders, claims Badal
Patiala – Former Chief Minister and patron of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) Parkash Singh Badal on Sunday said that the state’s bureaucracy was trying hard to appease their political masters in the Congress by unleashing atrocities against SAD workers in the state. He went on to state that the party was fully determined to resist such moves tooth and nail and also warned such officials to desist from such moves otherwise they will have to account for their misdeeds when SAD-BJP will form its government in the State.Badal, who was here to attend the function concerning the 21nd death anniversary of Bapu Kartar Singh, father of former Cabinet Minister and Core Committee member of the SAD and District President Suriit Singh Rakhra at Kartar Willa on Patiala-Nabha road, made these comments while interacting with the media on the sidelines of the function. Lashing out against the present regime, he commented that Chief Minister Captain Amarinder was not bothered about the sorrows of the poor Punjabis in any way terming the state government a super flop. He said that so far it had failed on all fronts as not a single commitment it made to the people before the elections had been fulfilled. He said that it proved to be the worst government-ever the state has seen as on developmental front, it was a complete standstill as the government was just talking of no funds, whereas in comparison the SAD-BJP government did remarkably during its tenure. Talking about the major issue being faced by the state concerning farmers, he said that Captain Amarinder Singh-led government had badly failed in tackling properly this sensitive issue and due to its mishandling farmers and farm labourers were involved in Suicides in a big way and the state government so far had no answer to them. He said that the income of the farmers was going down in comparison to the previous years and their expenditure was going up. In such a situation, they had no choice but to take their lives and it was the government’s apathy which was driving them to this.
