Bathinda: Former Chief Minister Rajinder Kaur Bhattal on Monday showed an uncanny affection and regard for her ‘bête noir’ Captain Amarinder Singh, while clarifying that Punjab Congress would contest the Assembly polls 2017 under the leadership of Captain Amarinder Singh, while also declaring him the Chief Ministerial candidate. She was here to hold a meeting with representatives of various trade and industrial organisations. On the sidelines of the event, accompanied by PPCC vice-president Manpreet Singh Badal, Bhattal said the manifesto of AAP released on Sunday merely focused on day-dreaming and lofty promises. “The promise of 25 lakh jobs is a joke as the party has not given any blueprint for the same,” said Bhattal. Speaking on the point, Manpreet demanded a criminal case against those political parties and individuals who make false promises in the manifestoes to befool the voters. The two said that AAP’s manifesto providing free WiFi hotspot in every village, city and government colleges was nothing but a ploy since it had promised similar thing in New Delhi but after coming to power it has nothing in this regard. While speaking about the desecration of Quran in Malerkotla, Bhattal said that alleged involvement of AAP MLA Naresh Yadav in the episode had exposed the real face of the party (AAP) which was resorting to all sort of unethical and unfair means to sway the people in certain areas. She said it is really shameful on the part of AAP. Meanwhile, Manpreet Singh Badal sought the registration of a criminal case against the Punjab Agro chairman Dyal Singh Kolianwali stating his alleged involvement in the recently exposed recruitment scam of local bodies department and PUDA. During the day, Bhattal met cotton growers association, jewellers association, concerned Arhtiya groups, workers of industrial organisations and as well as representatives of business houses. She said that meeting with various groups remained quite fruitful adding that party would give due attention to their suggestions and demands for incorporating them in party’s manifesto.
