Jalandhar: Panic spread in a rubber factory on Wednesday morning, after a huge blast took place, leaving three labourers injured and blew off its roof. The factory is situated on local Sodal Road in Jalandhar.
The incident took place at around 11.45 am, when a blast took place in the compressor of Palta Rubbers Private Limited situated opposite Kali Mata Mandir on Sodal Road near Industrial Area.
In this blast, three labourers were injured and sustained face and front body injuries. The three injured labourers included Naresh, Satya and Mantu, who were immediately rushed to private hospital. Such was the impact of the blast that the roof of the factory blew off. Even the rubber tyre stock kept in the factory was also reduced to tatters.
Subhash Palta, the owner of the cycle tyres an tubes manufacturing unit said that the loss of the factory was hue and it was difficult to assess it as of now. Meanwhile, a police party reached the factory to check the reason of the blast and trace out, if any foul play was involved.
