At Gurdwara Gurusar of Khemkaran under the president ship of Punjab President Raghbir Singh an emergency meeting of the Punjab Border Area Kisan Sangharsh Welfare Society was held.In this meeting, President Raghbir Singh said that the farmers who are crossing the border along the border with India and Pakistan are facing a lot of difficulties and the situation has happened that the crossing of the strings now is proving to be a loss-making trade for the farmers.
The border farmers have been debtors. The BSF’s 191 battalion commandant posted in Sector Khemkaran was requested to open all the gates to cultivate strands across the border, which they rejected as a pretext for BSF failing to excavate. Farmer of this area refuses to do farming unless BSF open the gates. Farmers of 10 villages refuses to do farming and demand to open the gate.
President Raghbir Singh said that BSF had made the affidavit filed in the Punjab High Court case against LPA no. 35/2012 that they would not allow the farmers across the wires to appear in the fields to face any difficulty in working in the fields, but the BSF Refusing.
After this meeting, the farmers and leaders of farmer reached the headquarters of the BSF 191 battalion and gave a memorandum to BSF officer Ayan Tiwari to IGBSF, which gave ultimatum to the farmers if the BSF had issued a memorandum on May 21 If no decision has been taken on the demands then they will be forced to struggle. Farmers are facing so many problems, if their demand is not accepted then they refuse to farm.
