In a tragic accident, a car of newlywed couple collided with harvester combine on Ludhiana- New Delhi National Highway near Dhandari kalan in which four people including bride died. A groom and driver, helper of combine suffered injuries and their condition is stated to be critical.
According to Police, A Mahindra Bolero ferrying newlywed couple and their relatives was returning from Jagadhri of Haryana to Tibba road in city. At around 7.30 Am, the car rams into harvester combine on National Highway which leaves four persons dead. The victims were rushed to nearby hospital where they were declared brought dead.
The deceased have been identified as 22-year-old bride Heena, her sister in laws Zareena, Husna Bano and Jamshed Alam. The groom Anjum is seriously injured. The driver of combine and his helper is also injured and admitted at SPS hospital for treatment.
The Police said that the newlywed couple started from Jagadhri at 5 Am and when they were crossing Highway near Dhandari, a Bolero car rams into harvester combine. The impact of the collision was such that the SUV was badly damaged and three people, including the bride, died on the spot, they added.
The onlookers and area residents gathered at spot and pulled out the victims after making efforts as car was damaged badly. The Police is finding the reason behind the accident, said Police officials probe the matter.
