CAG pointed out that Kejriwal misused public money for publicity
Jalandhar: Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) chief Captain Amarinder Singh on Thursday took to social media to take on Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal after CAG pointed out that Kejriwal misused public money for publicity.
Capt Amarinder tweeted on Thursday asking Kejriwal to respond to the CAG report on misusing public money for publicity outside the national capital. The tweet came at a juncture when AAP was embroiled in a series of controversies for splurging a huge amount of money for publicity in Delhi.
The report by CAG claimed that of the Rs 33.4 crore that the Kejriwal government spent on a single advertisement campaign, 85 per cent was spent outside Delhi. According to the CAG report, Rs 25 crore incurred on advertisement and publicity campaign was not in conformity with the generally accepted principles of financial propriety as laid down by the Supreme Court.
Should come clean on embezzlement: Cheema
Chandigarh: The Shiromani Akali dal urged the Delhi Chief Minister and AAP Convener Arvind Kejriwal to come clean on the recent report of large scale embezzlement and misuse of public money spent on advertisements outside Delhi to fulfill its lust of grabbing power outside the national capital.
In a statement released from the party office on Thursday, the SAD Secretary and spokesman and Punjab Education Minister Dr Daljit Singh Cheema said that recent CAG reports exposed a major scam of the Kejriwal government of misusing public money. Quoting reports being circulated in various forms of media Dr Cheema said that it is highly questionable that out of the total Rs 526 crore spent on the advertisement, the Kejriwal government has failed to give account of more than Rs 100 crore.DP
