Hoping to see success for the category of two weapons matching in the incidents, a CBI official, reportedly an Inspector rank sleuth, approached Bathinda SSP Swapan Sharma with some authority letter in hand on Saturday. A duty bound district top cop hurriedly rushed to the CIA station, where the CBI official was made to have a look into the details of the weapon, which the district police had sent to the CFSL for the detailed investigation.
According to sources, CBI after studying the entire file prepared by Punjab Police has till date visited various locations frequently visited by the RSS leader. The probing sleuths are also analysing how the assailants managed to attack him in such a busy area and then managed to escape even as police was deployed less than 100 meters away from the spot.
Notably, during the encounter Bambiha was killed on the spot and his close aide Tara was arrested by the police with a bullet injury on his leg. The state police are now trying to gather details of Bambiha’s criminal history to crack various other pending cases of the state.
