Bathinda: Gurvinder Singh, president of the Parents Association of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) affiliated schools, has demanded that all CBSE schools in the district should be directed to use books published by National Council of Education and Research and Training (NCERT).
A delegation of the Association met the Additional Deputy Commissioner with a copy of the circular issued by the Union Human Resource Development (HRD) Ministry which had directed all CBSE affiliated schools to use NCERT books from Class I to class XII. The District Administration has asked the District Education officer (Secondary) and District Education Officer (Elementary) implement the order forthwith.
The circular mentioned that the NCERT had 680 distribution centers all over the country from where the text books could be purchased. The Union Government, joint secretary (HRD) Manoj Srivastwa said in the circular that the NCERT books could also be purchased through the website of the organisation.DP
