Chahal calls upon residents to celebrate ‘Green Diwali’. Punjab Chief Minister’s Advisor Bharat Inder Singh Chahal has called upon the residents of the state to celebrate a ‘Green Diwali’ by saying no to pollution. Chahal made this observation while attending a Diwali Mela programme being organised by the Rajindra Gymkhana Mohindra Club as the Chief Guest here late on Saturday evening.He said that as these days pollution has become a major problem as it causing a number of problems for human beings and the state government is trying to control it accordingly. He said that the war against the pollution is not the problem of the government but it needs proper cooperation and support from the people as well. He, thus, exhorted the people to come forward and to provide a helping hand to the government to fight it in a right perspective.Chahal said that it is the responsibility of the people as well to support the government in controlling the pollution he urged the people to celebrate the festival of Diwali without causing any type of pollution and go for the Green Diwali celebration as it’s beneficial for this universe. In his address, he also praised Rajindra Gymkhana Mohindra Club for organising such events and urged the club to continue its tradition as well in future too.PRTC chairman K K Sharma and IG Zonal Amardeep Singh Rai also graced the occasion and also felicitated the club for organising such an event. Meanwhile, Chahal’s son Bikramjit Inder Singh Chahal was also present in the programme. Club president Vinod Dhundia, former president of the club Santokh Singh accompanied by Dr J P S Walia and Dr Manmohan Singh honoured Punjab CM’s Advisor BIS Chahal on this occasion.
