Jalandhar: Goraya police claimed to have rescued the five-year-old child, who was kidnapped for ransom on October 29 and also arrested the three kidnappers on Monday.
Revealing this on Monday, SP Rural Jalandhar Kulwant Singh Heer, in a press conference at Goraya police station, said that the child was kidnapped for ransom but the kidnappers did not get a chance to ask for the ransom amount due to police acalrity.
According to the SP, five-year-old Nisar Khan was kidnapped from his house in Rurkan Khurd village of Goraya on Saturday night by three persons who entered his house and brandished sharp-edged weapons forcing the boy’s father Abdul Raja to back away as they kidnapped the child. As soon the incident took place, wireless messages were immediately sent to all nearby police stations. The kidnappers had also snatched a motorcycle, bearing registration number PB-37-D-1162 of Abdul Raja, a nearby resident.
Goraya police team traced the kidnappers to a Dera in Katana village and arrested them after surrounding the Dera. The three arrested persons were identified as Kamaljit Verma, Jagjit Singh alias Kaka and Manjit also known as Vinay, all from Mukandpur. DP
