Following the reports of patients harassed at civil hospital due to the strike of doctors, the Punjab Child Rights Commission have taken the suo motto notice and summoned civil surgeon and others for explanation call. Two days ago, the doctors announced strike after BJP leader allegedly misbehaved with doctors over the issue of medical report. The doctors alleged misbehavior and obstruction in government duty and hold strike.
During the strike more than 500 patients have to face horrifying time and returned unattended. Chairman of Commission Sukesh kalia said that the patients including women and children’s were denied medical and emergency services which are shocking. By executing the powers, I have summoned Civil surgeon, Senior Medical Officer (SMO) to appear before commission to give explanation. Sukesh kalia said that the issue is very sensitive and negligence on part of doctors will not be tolerated. It is pertinent to mention here that the doctors have ended strike after the Police have registered FIR against BJP leader Parveen Bansal.
