Chandigarh:Cold conditions continue dunabated in most parts of Punjab and Haryana today even as dense fog adversely affected air, rail and road traffic in the region.
Narnaul was coldest place in the region with a low of 3.5 degrees Celsius, two notches below normal.While Hisar settled at a low of 6.1 degrees celsius, one notch below normal, the minimum at Karnal was 6.2 degrees celsius, one notch below normal.
Among other places in the region, Amritsar and Ludhiana settled at an identical low of 6.6 degrees celsius, one notch each above normal followed by 7.1 degrees Celsius at Chandigarh, one notch above normal, 7.7 degrees celsius at Patiala and 7.8 degrees celsius at Ambala, two notches above normal.
Dense fog in the region affected air and rail schedule due to poor visibility, officials said.Besides, motorists moved at a low pace on roads due to thick blanket of fog.
The MeT forecast dense fog with dry weather in most parts of Punjab and Haryana during the next 48 hours. PTI
