College lecturer murdered for dowry, husband, inlaws booked
Ludhiana(DP Correspondent) – Married two months ago, a college lecturer was murdered for dowry by her husband and in laws in a house at Bindraban Road. The victim was admitted at Dayanand Medical college and hospital two days ago where she died while undergoing treatment on Monday. The deceased has been identified as Ritu Adya. She was daughter of retired District Attorney Vipan kumar.According to information, Ritu who was lecturer at master Tara Singh college for women was married to Gourav Adya two months ago. The parents of Ritu alleged that the in-laws of Ritu were harassing her and forcing her to bring more dowries from the maternal house. The parents alleged that the inlaws has given her poison and she fell ill. She was admitted at DMCH where she died while undergoing treatment.Investigation officer in the case Baljit Singh at Police station division number 4 said that they gave registered case of dowry death against Gourav Adya and his family members following the statement of parents of deceased. Gourav Adya is hosiery trader. The police have arrested Gourav and also launched manhunt for the arrest of absconding accused.
