Ferozepur: Ferozepur created a history on March 11, after all four assembly segments were won by Congress.
In Zira constituency, Kulbir Singh Zira won, at Ferozepur (Urban) Parminder Singh Pinky became victorius second time, in Ferozepur (Rural) Satkar Kaur Gehri of Congress wrested the seat from SAD and Rana Gurmeet Singh Sodhi won from Guruharsahai for fourth consecutive time.
In 2012, Assembly election two seats were won by Congress and two by SAD. Pinky won the elections by defeating his nearest rival Sukhpal Singh Nannu with a margin of 29,179 votes.
Gehri won Ferozepur rural seat with a margin of 21,380 votes. She got 71,037, votes from the total valid votes polled. In 2012, Gehri lost the elections with a narrow margin of 162 votes only.
Zira won the seat with a margin of 23,071 votes by defeating sitting MLA of SAD Hari Singh Zira. At Guruharshai segment, Sodhi defeated SAD heavy weight Vardev Singh Maan with a margin of 5,677 votes.
