Former CLP leader and Punjab Congress chief spokesperson Sunil Jakhar on Saturday said that Congress will bring a breach of privilege motion against Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal for misleading the assembly and people of Punjab on development issues in Vidhan Sabha on September 8.Stating that upcoming Vidhan Sabha session will be a stormy affair, Jakhar said that the state congress will put Punjab government on notice in assembly session.
“We will bring breach of privilege motion against Sukhbir Badal for not only misleading Vidhan Sabha but the people of urban areas of Punjab. Especially, Sukhbir Badal’s home turf Bathinda and Jalandhar”, he said. Addressing a press conference, Jakhar said that during budget session on March 18, Sukhbir Badal said that SAD-BJP government has allocated Rs 6083 crore for development of 100 to 150 cities within next two-three months. Deputy CM categorically shared that this amount would be spent on 100 percent sewerage, water supply, roads and street lights work in the urban cities, he said.
Jakhar also said that recently Deputy CM Badal released an advertisement in newspapers on August 22, where he claimed to have spent a whopping Rs 1735.64 crore on development of Bathinda and Rs 2186.38 crore for development of Jalandhar city.Flashing the pictures of flooded Bathinda city and broken roads of Jalandhar, Jakhar questioned Sukhbir Badal to inform that where was the money spent?
