Ludhiana:Despite facing defeat in assembly elections, former Deputy Chief Minister and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal was in good spirits when he visited Dakha and Payal constituencies of Ludhiana district and addressed rallies here where he thanked the party workers and voters for supporting Shiromani Akali Dal in the assembly elections.
Sukhbir said that SAD- BJP had got good vote percentage in elections, but lost seats due to false propaganda spread by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) which benefited Congress. He asked the party leaders and workers to stay in high spirits and prepare ground for 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
Badal claimed that in 2022 SAD-BJP will make a clean sweep and form the state government again.
Taking a dig at Chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh, the SAD president said that Congress had made lofty promises with people during elections and now were running away from fulfilling the promises. In the Cabinet meeting and Assembly session, no announcement was made to waive the loan of debt-ridden farmers which was promised by Congress. Apart from the promise of debt waiver, Congress also forgot promises of jobs and smartphones, added Sukhbir.
Sukhbir said that in Dacha constituency SAD candidate Manpreet Ayali lost elections with a small difference of votes. Despite that Manpreet Ayali will remain MLA for the people as sitting MLA of AAP party will not meet the people.
He also appreciated the development works done by Ayali during his tenure. The leaders of other states also adopted the projects of ultra modern Sports Park from Dakha constituency.
Speaking on the occasion, Manpreet Singh Ayali said that out of 130 villages Shiromani Akali Dal had secured lead in 100 villages. He added that party leaders who helped other parties will not be spared.
On this occasion senior leaders Maheshinder Singh Grewal, MLA from Sahnewal Sharanjit Dhillon, ex-MLA Ranjit Singh Dhillon besides several others were present.
