Faridkot: Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Kiran Bala has summoned inspector Gurcharan Singh and Parminder Singh resident of Chet Singh Wala village in a complaint case of murdering Pavittar Singh of the same village in July 2013.
The complaint alleges that during election for the panchayat tension brewed in the village Chet Singh Wala and a police party led by inspector Gurcharan Singh arrived in the village. The inspector was heavily drunk and he opened fire with his service revolver without any provocation killing Pavittar Singh on the spot.
The police registered a false case that the police party was attacked by violent villagers and the inspector opened fire in self-defence. An inquiry conducted by the police department gave the inspector a clean chit.
Lakhwinder Singh father of the deceased moved the court after the police failed to register a murder case. After perusing the evidence and going through the statements of the witnesses the court ordered the accused to appear before it.
