Crack in drain, 150 acres of crops destroyed.
Barnala: About 150 acres paddy cultivation was destroyed in the Aalike village near Tapa Mandi. In relation to which the villagers said accusing administrative officials, the cleanliness of the drain was not carried out from the previous long time from administration, which caused rain water to be accumulated and the drain over became and breached down. In which farmer’s 100 acres of paddy and nearly 50 acres of farmland including houses of some farmers have drowned into water. The speed of the water was so much that the water moved in the village too.The villagers, youths and people of the village reached at spot and started the process of closing the breach in drain. The farmers gathered together accusing administration officials said that if the drain was cleaned by the administration, the farmers would not have lost about 150 acres of crop.The victim said that no help was given by the administration or any of the senior officials of the administration reached at the spot. Farmers demanded from the Punjab government that action should be taken against the officials of the governments and the compensation of the farmers could be compensated promptly. The victim has demanded that if the Punjab government and the administration don’t care for their demands then they will protest for it.
