CT University organised a guest lecture on ‘Developing LSRW for effective communication’ by Dr Simran Preet Kaur, Faculty, Shri Mata Vaishnu Devi University, Jammu. Dr Simran Preet elaborated about the four basic modules that are Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing (LSRW) skills that how one can develop these skills with practice.
Welcoming the guest, Dr Harsh Sadawarti, said, “The element of confidence lies in an every student. He just needs to focus on the right way to bring that out. We communicate in daily life, all just need to groom up. The best way to improve vocabulary for communication is carrying a dictionary everyday and learning a new word.”
During the session, Simran elaborated, “There is a difference between sharing and communicating. One must understand the basic difference and understanding basic definitions that of a sender, receiver and most importantly feedback. I request each one of you to believe in themselves and communicate with confidence.” She also taught the students about communication barriers and how to overcome them.
Dr Simran also narrated nanotales to students, encouraged them to write and even made students a part of various activities oriented to LSRW. Managing Director Manbir Singh said that such seminars on communication skills are very necessary for the overall grooming of the students.
